My name is Mashal Dilruba Sherzad, and I’m an Afghan American/Persian artist/vintage trader. Most of what I do is an art I learned throughout my childhood, because my mother would take me to the Bead Monkey on Grand Avenue in Saint Paul, Minnesota. My brother and I were born here, and my parents were born in Afghanistan. Though we were not rich, we had love. And I use that word a lot, but even as I write this; I fight happy tears and some sad ones. I believe my mission behind learning the art of jewelry was a way to express myself when I felt invisible. But it opened beautiful doors. It just made my heart beat again! *sigh* (and pause for dramatic effect). I am based out of Minneapolis. These pieces are from parts of my journey, and I'd love to share them with you! Jewelry made with purpose and love.
